About the Artist

Attica Rage"Attica Rage have a sense of authority and freshness about their sound that should not be underestimated nor pushed aside....a welcome change from the norms of the British music industry"

Alana King, Room 13 - (Rated 11/13)

Established in 2003 in Glasgow, Scotland, regenerated from a previous incarnation of the band, Attica Rage are one of the country's most promising unsigned acts. The band have built a solid reputation for their modern metal sound based on their classic hard rock and metal influences with strong melodies, epic groove-laden riffs and consistent, lively performances.

Successes to date include being selected out of over 750 entries to perform at the 2005 T-Break showcases at the legendary King Tuts Wah Wah Hut and being selected out of 400 entries to compete in the Headhunter Records Battle of the Bands (and won their first heat by highest audience votes and are now through to the Heat Finals). Other live highlights have included fundraising events for Childline and Romania as well attending and hosting their own special showcase as part of MusicWorks - the International Cross-Media Music Industry Convention. The band have achieved features and favourable reviews in national and regional newspapers such as 'Evening Times' as well as music publications and webzines such as 'Room 13', 'Music News Scotland', 'Eat This Music', 'Metalism' and 'Power-Metal UK'. In September, Attica Rage were named by Terrorizer Magazine as one of the promising UK power-metal bands to look out for, in their feature "The Rise, Fall and Rise of an Imperial Power".

Attica RageAttica Rage launched their second release; the 5-song EP 'In Concert with the Mirror' in March 2005. This gained the band UK radio airplay on Vic Galloway's show on BBC Radio 1 (Scotland), Jim Gellatly and Martin Bate's shows on Beat 106 FM and Jimi the Vox's shows on Pulse Unsigned as well as a variety of internet radio stations. October saw Attica Rage included in Jimi the Vox's (Pulse Rated) A-Z of Metal list. Their US radio airplay debut was on Fearless Radio (Chicago) and they continue to receive more positive reviews and media coverage.

Acknowledged as one of the hardest working bands in the underground scene, Attica Rage have spent the last two years gigging continuously and focused on building their profile and fanbase with ongoing success. They have found fans from a variety of genres and have gained respect from the metal community as much as from others in the indie-rock and punk scenes. They have also received supportive feedback from big name bands including Zakk Wylde's Black Label Society and German legends Accept. The band have now started receiving interest from the UK and US music industry including record labels, concert promoters, radio promotion companies, regional press & PR companies as well as DJS and radio stations in UK, America and Europe.

For the remainder of 2005, Attica Rage shall continue to promote the EP and start recording material for their debut album to be released in 2006. With this and an ongoing gig schedule, including plans for a 2006 UK tour, the future certainly looks promising for Attica Rage.

"In a time when the UK needs stand out bands many are coming to the forefront and Attica Rage are right up there ready to make a noise. Scotland and the UK's brightest metal hope? Oh hell yes!"
