Ilvyris was formed in 1997 to simply specialize in the art of creating melodic tracks and introspective vocals for hip-hop music. Their goal is to revitalize the hip-hop culture by taking rap back to its roots. The message of their music can be understood by breaking down the acronym ILVYRIS, (Ill Lyrics Vocalize Youth Rage In Society). As performers they put together a distinct melodic blend of gritty lyrics with musical elements that saturate the listener with a stylish street vibe. Their music spreads an infectious vibe that can be absorbed by hard-core hip-hop heads and even a mainstream audience. Ilvyris has been performing at local events and venues in the Washington, DC/Baltimore area building a strong fan base with a credible reputation. Their performances includes: The Spot Night Club located in Capitol Heights, Maryland, The Hip Hop Forum at Erico's International Lounge based in Northwest, D.C., The Great Blacks and Wax Mansion in Baltimore, Maryland and The Premier Networking party at Towson University. Ilvyris also performed for Young Men in Business, Inc. (Y.M.I.B), a nonprofit organization, to assist in promoting peace and unity in the community and raising money for unfortunate youth. Besides great performances and community support, Ilvyris has been played by college radio stations, securing rotation on Morgan University's WEAA FM, James Madison University's WJMX FM and Maryland University's WMUCP FM. 'The tracks on their demo tape are straight bangin' and hotter than a steel roof in July', says DJ Dangerous, Maryland University's WMUCP disc jockey. Ilvyris has the whole ball of wax: innovative lyrics, unique delivery and one of the most diverse productions heard in some time. On their debut album, 'Prepare Ya Self Get Ya Gas Mask', the beats vary from track to track, completely different from what you hear on any other CD. The in-house production is unique with a fusion of east coast grittiness and west coast funkiness keeping the album original but raw, and filled with a diverse range of lyrical content. In this day and age where hip-hop genre is receiving national attention, Ilvyris and Epidemic Entertainment is soon to become a household name in the music industry.
