I remember when I first started writing with a serious notion and playing at the folk clubs, about 1978. Dartford folk club was- and still is - a prominent venue of the folk scene circuit. I remember doing a floorspot just before - the now worldly acclaimed - Dougie Maclean. Personally he blew me away with his beautiful I am ready for the storm. In the years that followed I played some spots: Folk clubs, bars. I even did a small set for a certain Masonic lodge; even a PTA christmas appearence was covered. I went to see a band that Calum Mcall was in. If I remember rightly 4 of us - Calum included - ended up at some one's house where he and myself proceeded to acoustically jazz the night away. Good fun!! I did a few sets in Ireland at certain parties. A cousin of mine was to marry an Irish girl. Sadly the marriage never lasted, but I will never forget the kindness of the people and their hospitality towards us all whilst we were there. Needless to say I have covered some of those events in songs I have composed: Sweet love and The shaping of our days. etc. Next year I hope to see a first full CD release - or at least a record signing to started recording more material. I'm now signed to Impact Music Ltd for the publishing side, and I hope we can work together to release some fine musical works. Many thanks to Dale Olivier for the appraisal of my work - In particular my The other side of time - who said: " I really loved The Other Side Of Time. It has a classic sound and quite Nick Drake/ Cat Stevens/ David Gray-esque but with a twist of its own...very dreamy and quite lo-fi and melodic. Quite melancholic. Actually put a lump in my throat."
