Hometown: Hull, Yorkshire, United Kingdom
Since 2002, SideWinder have dedicated time to developing their own unique blend of sound and songs.
They have now put together an exciting and popular live set which is literally generating waves of interest from the North East of England to Hollywood, CA.
New management has injected drive, direction and re-structure into the camp which has propelled the band to within touching distance of national acclaim.
On Local Hero, the title track, Christian (Lead vocals and guitar) says "This tune's about as big as my ego! There's a lot I'm well and truly miffed with and the aggression is there in this song. It was there when I wrote it, tired of descends and key changes and progressions. Music's about balance and I think this was one of the first songs where every member of the band achieved that in what we're doing for the greater good of the song."
On Wasteland in my Town, Neil (Lead guitar) says "We're all into different music and we don't agree on everything, although we all like 'The Who'. In places this is a bit W'ho-ey'. Chris came up with the bit where it all slows down, the slow guitar part. People think Chris is just a singer, but he's a good guitar player too. Not just ordinary strumming either. Yes, he needs Earth to summon him back when he occasionally gets it in his head that he's on a raga tip, playing at Woodstock on brown acid and heads off to noodleville, but that's what friends are for, surely? The song's about Hull to an extent, although it applies to somewhere near most places - It might be a bit grotty out there, but you can make your own sunshine if you're with the right people."
