Tessa Bickers picked up a guitar three years ago and taught herself to play... now she's written over 50 songs, and has been performing with her band up and down the UK.
With a set of lively, upbeat numbers combined with slow, thoughtful, acoustic songs she's been popular at a range of different venues.
Tessa writes all her own songs, and one Respect, which was written about the war in Iraq, was taken on by George Galloway's party, as a protest song. It was reviewed by NME Magazine, which said "this song would bring tears to a glass eye." An interesting quote to say the least!
Her music has been reviewed in a number of local papers, and is described as "beautiful", "enchanting" and "haunting".
Tessa has built up an enthusiastic fan base, both through her gigs, her daytime job as a radio presenter, and through her page on myspace.com.
She's recorded her own album, Chasing Shadows, and this has been selling well at gigs as well as through the web page. She's now working with a record producer to work on a second album, which should be available this summer.
Last year she performed at a number of local festivals including Holcombe Music Festival and a Tsunami fundraising concert, and this year she's set to perform the opening set at a new stage being built in Warminster. She's also putting on her own charity concert to raise money for the Chernobyl Children's Lifeline.
