It was only a matter of time before the town whose only claim to fame was some porcelain, Edward Elgar and a sauce would spawn another seedling of hope for its youth to nurture. Apart from the famous cathedral, Worcester may never have had what the Bright Lights, Big Cities boast, but the lack of attractions has meant more time for writing and practice for The Dastards. Drawing from an eclectic set of influences - Dylan through to Muse - The Dastards have compiled an unusually large and varied set for a band barely out of college. Not surprising when you consider that Wake (Guitars, Vocals) got his first guitar aged 4 and fourteen years later, if he's not playing the guitar, he's thinking about playing the guitar. The Dastards have released their first CD, sampling the variety of their range, which drives at speed on the highway with Miranda and then grows into the stadium-entrancing anthem This Time, followed by the angst-ridden Spitting Roses and ending with the Dastards Street Team's favourite Trouble. The Dastards are currently touring the pubs and clubs of Great Britain For further details, contact Mark Wakefield at Stretch Records: mark@stretchrecords.co.uk or check the web site www.Dastards.com
